Need help following tutorials on windows 8

I tried installing visual c++ 2010 and it worked, but i cant figure out how to get the directX SDK June 2010 to work, it gives me the error s1023. Apparantly this is a common thing.

Can someone just post the links to something that will work for windows 8.

Before installing the SDK remove this "Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package version 10.0.40219 (Service Pack 1)"

Ok after a bit of searching i got visual studio 2012 working, and dirextX June 2010, and according to some people the framework does work on visual studio 2012

For some reason though, im getting an incompatible error
Solution 'Chili DirectX framework'(0 projects)
Chili DirectX framework(Incompatible)
This project is not compatable with the current version of visual studio

Should i re-download Visual studio 2010 and try installing it again. Should i delete visual studio 2012??
