8 Days. Music video. Must make.

If you have any recommended tutorial sites, I'd take those. Frankly, I'm just getting lucky when I try and select a start/stop point from the source video. I've got to stop winging it, get something more specific on the controls.

Right now I have the studio track of the song as music and a playthrough of the song as done on Rock Band. Those are my foundation, other cuts will be laid out on top of that.

Sorry bro, I mostly learned my meager Vegas "skills" through the tried and true method of pissing around, and then tried some Google and YouTube searches when I needed to know how to do something really specific.

What do you mean by selecting a start/stop point? You can trim your clips anyway you like to determine where the start and stop is...

With 8 more cuts left in the piece, followed by a static image at the very end, trimming the excess time filler currently at the ead-in and end of the vid, possible resizing in case it's too huge to post to youtube (space-wise), I'm nearly done. I guess I'll catch a little sleep now. Should be finished and uploaded tomorrow. Hopefully.

Seems like you managed not to let Vegas get the best of you. Can't wait to see the finished product bro!

No, but I've been doing Rock Band since it came out. I've got a little rhythm. I just need to challenge myself to learn the real thing, where the little colored bars aren't flying out to get me.

Yeah, a lot of cuts. A lot. Audience gets a bit bored if there's a rock song and it's one steady shot; learned that when I volunteered at the local public access station in my younger years.

Also, I won the competition. Victory Records honored me with 25 free RBN songs, but even more, they sent me an email, saying the really enjoyed watching it and thanked me for my efforts. Makes me really proud, totally worth all the lost sleep over the past few days.

Hi Chilli,

I also use Sony vegas 11 pro for making my 3D videos on youtube and vimeo.

Also Camtasia 7 is really good for making tutorial videos, as now it records PC sound as well as the microphone too.
