Chili by the Brick

Post by JohnnyG » January 11th, 2017, 3:29 am

Hey everyone, this is my first planet chili post.

I have been following the tutorials. Outstanding! I have stopped at 13 just before the snek. I figured this was a good stopping point to try and mess around with all the things. The only things I have used that The tutorials hasn't spoken about as of yet is the beeps(). I googled that, because I couldn't stand the silence.

I present to you Chili by the brick.

It is a lame ass brick breaker, there are many like it but this one is mine.

I know there is a lot to work on. Ideas for future are
*increasing bricks as levels increase
*decreasing paddle size and levels increase
*adding unbreakable bricks

you know standard brick breaker stuff.

I don't know if it matters, shouldn't, but i zipped it with 7zip cuz its free n stuff.

Ouch, don't have 7Zip.

I'll get it, hopefully in the future as you will see/learn in the series, you might consider using GitHub?

Haha, nice one bro. Good use of all the stuff taught up until the Snek game.

I kinda like how the square pauses a little after each collision. Adds a some weird character to the feel of the game.

We'll be doing an Arkanoid clone on Tutorial 20, so that should be interesting for you to see another take on the same idea. Also, check this out for info on getting sound with the Chili framework: http://wiki.planetchili.net/index.php?t ... Sound_Pack

Good job in making your own project, and thanks for sharing!

Aw man this is awesome!
I totally get what chili is saying about the little pause after each collision lol
Along with the beeps gives it all a cool retro 8-bit type of feel. Great stuff, keep up the good work!
