My replies are sometimes longer than the LPs I do them for

Can I be helped?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to watching the beginner C++ series and perhaps learning something. Thanks, ChiliT.

I remember waking up one day, checking my iPhone, seeing like 12 messages in my Hotmail inbox, and thinking 'who the hell fed my email address to a spambot?? :x'. I think you have a disease gCrusher, and the only cure is: more cowbell.

In other news, it looks like you're the first one to sign up for the forum. Now I no longer have to cry myself to sleep every night in this cold lonely wasteland.

Hugs?

I love giving hugs!

But back to serious matters of the fist, not of the heart.

Looks like some jackhole has spammed your board good. I wish you luck in cleaning it up and setting up some security. :\

When I become grand dictator of the NWO, my first official act will be to make spamming a capital offence punishable by death  (death by poontah, that is).

Cleaning up was the easy part, but preventing registration seems to be harder. I got a captcha set up, but it seems to be super ineffective. Damn computers. Isn't it enough that they proved they can beat us in chess and Jeopardy? They're just rubbing it in now.

In other news, I've been e-stalking you gCrusher, and I noticed that you subscribed to Plump's channel. I applaud your taste in let's players (excepting of course myself). Have you noticed he's been taking some crazy directions with his LPs lately?

I used to be a huge fan of JRPGs (in fact, they're probably in-part ultimately responsible for my ending up living here), but I haven't been able to get into playing one for about a decade now (god I feel old). Nevertheless, I'm finding myself quite entertained by Plump's latest offering of Star Ocean 3. I wonder how lazy are you when you need other people to play your video games for you.

Nah, some people just do it better, or have more skill. I wouldn't have played through that old RPG you did, mainly due to being lost in the dungeon and not progressing further. Madness, I tell you.

Cyber-stalk away. But if you find legitimate references to my old webomic Battle Forum, or even further, my involvement in the e-Fed of BJWC, you'll have crossed the line into obsession. Suffice to say, if it's under g-Crusher or gCrusher, it's very likely me... or someone who's big into Godzilla stuff and likes referencing that cannon they used to fight him in one of the movies. Don't know much about it, I'm not that into those.

Personally, I prefer it if the person doing the let's play is not an expert. It makes it more interesting and suspenseful, and when they actually do succeed it seems more climactic. Also, if they're not a pro, I can often think of a better way to do things, and that gives me some motivation to try the game myself to test out my own theories.

OMG FINISH SHADOWRUN!

*koff*

Sorry, I think I picked up something from one of the Youtube posters. Nasty business, that.

I agree, if I wanted to see a TAS I'd watch that. There's a difference between expertise and complete bumbling. Entertainment is a must; if I'm going to see the same mission replayed over and over, you'd better be funny. I found ChocoboTamer does this well with his GTA videos; who hasn't been cheated out of victory by poor AI or controls or unreasonable factors (or a combination) when playing those games?

Yeah, if the LPer is completely retarded it can be hard to restrain myself from screaming at the screen, let alone actually enjoying the experience. Balance is key, in this as in anything.

P.S. Shadow-what? :P

I can only imagine how much time went into the hacking sidequest/montage that was done in Shadow-what.

To answer your question awhile back regarding the big turn to jRPGs, that's cool. Oftentimes they have a compelling story, even if things get lost in translation or cultural differences make some jokes less funny. My only major downturn for them is when you are forced to grind to progress, and if battle animations make you need to go make a sammach in between turns.

Legend of Dragoon, fight against Kongol, looking right at you. It was cool that the PCs felt like they accomplished something when he puts away the axe during the fight, but his bare-handed attack, way too damn long to watch over the course of a pitched battle. Was only cool once, maybe twice...

Animation is at 6:27, but you only need to watch it once to get the point.

That could get pretty frustrating. :|

If I recall correctly, the Final Fantasy's summons were a total bag of dicks with regard to length.

By the way, have you heard of the licenced Shadowrun browser game that is purportedly in the works? Can't be any worse than the Shadowrun FPS, can it? Can it???

I'm still waiting for an X-COM/squad tactics type Shadowrun game...
