the point is to remove the constness of the this pointer to be able to invoke its non-const At method (it expects/needs to work with a non-const ZBuffer)

without the cast, it would become a recursive call to the function itself (instead of calling that non-const method)

well it would only cause compiler warnings (unless your visual studio were set up to treat those warnings as errors), but fixing them would probably prevent bugs :p

it's not supposed to error on that, it would basically cast the value on passing it

but really, orthography (or capitalization) isn't grammar, tho it does play a role in making words grammatical (since a misspelt word may then be a different part of speech)
