Well if I bought an SSL certificate and paid hostgator to install it that would probably go away. Might need a dedicated ip for that too. Could run an extra $100 / year.

I don't think a forum like this really needs to use encrypted connections, just don't use the same password on this forum you use everywhere else.

Yeah that's basically my philosophy as well. You really shouldn't be using the same password you use for something important ANYWHERE else, SSL or not. Shit gets hacked all the GD time these days, and organizations that you think should know better still do shit like storing passwords in plaintext, or with shitty hashing methodologies.

A bigger priority for me is to try and get the site up on my own personal server. Hostgator is actually the worst. If I can get that working nice with my router and DDNS, then I'll try and get my domain pointed at my DDNS, and if I can swing that, I'll cancel Hostgator and migrate officially to my own server, and then maybe I'll look into getting an SSL certificate and running HTTPS encryption.

As always, producing content for YouTube takes priority tho.
