Watch this tutorial this guy gives you a bit of insight as to how the formula works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKnobWHvzSY displaying it is the only other problem you have to work out. He also has good tutorials for showing how to draw animations but, doesnt go too far into detail about how the variables work if you want that read Luna's directx or watch chilis tutorials.
