Problem With Framework

Post by Serotec » June 9th, 2012, 3:02 pm

In the first tutorial, we download everything and the framework, but when I build the framework, it succeeds but the .exe does not work.

Visual C++ says this: Unhandled exception at 0x003c133a in Chili DirectX Framework.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000.

And when I try to run the .exe, it says this: Chili DirectX Framework.exe has stopped working

I am using Windows Vista, and I installed everything correctly, so what could the problem be?

Could be your video card. Try this version of the framework (ghilllie build):

Thank you! And yes, I'm on a laptop too, that might explain the graphics problem.

But in your lessons, because I'm using a different type of Framework, will I type in the same code as you? It might not work because I am using a different type.

What is your laptop's specs? How intense are these programs? But I guess this is a sign for you to upgrade your laptop (You can't hold off from it forever :P)!

My computer broke down, the CPU got fried and the laptop I'm using is ancient. It seems like my laptop can't handle anything, because even the black screen in lesson one didn't work.

It's a dual core intel T2390 1.86GHz, 2GB DDR2 RAM and integrated graphics.

I'm getting a new computer next week so I should be sorted then!
